19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial championship for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-term coach his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, he has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial championship following the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt from spring of the previous year.
Success also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to win a title is particularly special," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his last six title deciders, including in Halle previously this season.
His counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to question if his capacity to compete at the elite level was finished.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an better service.
The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors traded service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour title, gained dominance to create a final set.
Moutet rescued 4 early chances in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, he clinched the win with a shot at the net area, with his opponent incapable to control a return after a lengthy match.
